        "My Adoption Story"

        As Told by Elizabeth

Once upon a time there was a little mouse that needed a mommy and a mommy that needed a little mouse. The little mouse spent a long time waiting for her mommy to find her. She knew that one day she would come. The little mouse was sad because there was nobody who loved her and her heart always felt sad and scared.

Far away in another city the mommy was waiting for a little mouse to love. She wanted to give her a bed, and food, and brothers and especially she wanted to give her love and candy too! The mommy trusted God to make sure her little mouse was safe until they got to live together.

One day God decided it was time for the little mouse not to be sad anymore. He said it was time for a family to happen. He took the little mouse away from the place that made her sad and gave her to the mommy who was meant for her. The little mouse was scared because she didn't know what was happening. She was missing the sad place a little bit. Her new >mommy told her that she was safe and she didn't need to be afraid anymore.

The little mouse got happier and happier and even more happier every day. Her heart didn't feel like it was leaving anymore. She liked to hug her new mommy. She liked her new family and she forgot to be mad anymore. She liked her brothers because they loved her even when she was bad and said mean things. But most of all, she loved her new mommy. She liked it when she said "I love you forever and always" and she liked to play "I love you more than pickles" with her. She liked her food and she liked it when she got surprise treats like fruit snacks and ice cream.

One day the mommy mouse said to the little mouse, "Do you want to always be my little girl?" and the little mouse said, "YES YES YES YES YES!" So they called the lawyer and the workers and said that they wanted to be a family for ever and ever. It took a long time, and that made the little mouse sad sometimes, but the mommy always promised it would be a happy day when the judge would make them a family.

The little mouse liked going to the big city to see the lawyer and she liked to see her workers who wrote papers so she could be adopted. She practiced writing her new name that she picked on her very own because it was a special name. It was a name from her mommy's name, and her middle name was a name that the mommy mouse from a long time ago gave to her, and her last name came from her grandpa and grandma who loved her too. She wanted to tell everybody about her new name and that she belonged now. She wasn't a nobody anymore and she didn't live nowhere. Her name was Elizabeth Anita Jones and she was somebody special.

That's the story about how a mommy and a little mouse found each other ...and they lived happily ever after.
